Government House - Kingdom of Bahrain
Structure: Reinforced concrete with mechanical plant basement over the entire footprint of the building (below water table), building security systems.
Responsibilities: Site and Construction management, structural design audit, blast resisting façade walls, basement flooding, uncompromising client, security.
Villamar@theHarbour - Kingdom of Bahrain
A unique mixed use development comprising 257,769m2 of residential, commercial and hospitality offerings in three towers (56, 54 and 42 stories) and a multi-level podium.
Structure: Reinforced concrete with post tensioned flat slabs. Multiple basement levels below sea level, suspended apartments spanning between towers. Towers (and structure) twisting through 35degrees.
Responsibilities: Lead Design and development manager, financial modelling, CM1 construction monitoring, structural peer reviewer.
Pearl Towers - Kingdom of Bahrain
Structure: 3, 50 story residential towers on a 4 story parking and mixed use podium structure. Reinforced concrete shear walls and columns, post tensioned concrete flat slabs, precast podium beams.Responsibilities: Structural design and CM1 supervision of the construction of the building.
Canterbury Jockey Club
4 storey race course grandstand constructed around 1920. Heritage listed building.
Structure: Reinforced concrete, composite concrete, cast iron, timber bleaches.
Responsibilities: Structural engineer undertaking detailed assessment and design of the retrofit work.

Dunbar Sloane Building - Wellington
4 storey URM building with concrete and timber floors, half basement and penthouse level, originally constructed in 1920 with various structural interventions over the previous century.Structure: URM, cast iron, structural steel and timber building, strengthened to 100% NBS.Responsibilities: Structural engineer undertaking detailed assessment and design of the retrofit work.
Working Mans Club - Cuba Street Wellington
3 mixed material buildings, historically haphazardly tied together, strengthened to 70% NBS. Heritage listed building.Structure: URM, railway iron reinforced concrete, cast iron, structural steel, precast, block and timber structures, tied together and strengthened to 70% NBS.Responsibilities: Structural engineer undertaking detailed assessment and design of the retrofit work.
Mann Street Hotel - Queenstown
A 5 storey (1 ½ basements) 5 star hotel on Mann Street Queenstown.Structure: Structural steel frame, with concrete cores featuring a focused damage design by having two top beams to the core yielding, thus facilitating repair while retaining occupancy of the hotel.Responsibilities: Structural engineer and CM3 construction monitoring.
Northern Quarter II, Tauranga
A 5 storey office and conference centre with a 9 story hotel complex in Tauranga – detailed structural design.Structure: Structural steel framing with composite hollow section columns – lateral stability provided by a mix of conventional shear walls, eccentrically braced frames with replaceable active links, and localized moment frames all founded on a stone column ground improved site.Responsibilities: Design engineer for lateral system and foundations.
